Kolkata…. rediscovering every day

...

My fellow shutterbugs came to Kolkata for a photo tour. After a long gap, I was on the street. Kolkata was definitely a different experience for them. I was chalking out a quick plan for them to cover the must sees for the photo-mads in just two and a half day. At that time I felt I have explored nothing and nowadays are running out of ideas. Went back to the old frequented places and some typical markets of Kolkata. Poverty, people living on the streets; they have not seen much. They have not seen so many vehicles. They have not seen cops having problem in photographing street life. They have met a bengali gentleman for the first time who confidently told them that photographing second Hooghly bridge from Babughat is prohibited! Bengalis in Kolkata know everything, you see.

As Beauty Sets In

For the first time they got a glimpse of beautiful Victoria memorial and Princep ghat. They walked down the sub lanes near Park Street. Had an authentic bengali lunch in Salt Lake restaurant. Took a random bus and reached Howrah in half an hour from distant part of the city. They had so many experiences, and I got so many different views about the city as we were casually chatting in the evening. I have to study Kolkata much more…
