Fishy Affair
Sunday morning I managed to get up early… hmm very early…. I must say. 5:30 in the morning!! After a gap of three weeks, I came home. Trains between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar were not plying. Rail tracks got completely washed out due to recent flood. In the meantime last week KWS (Kolkata Weekend Shoots) went live on Big FM (92.7). Abhijit Da, Shamim, Sudip, Krishnendu and others were present in the program. I could not even listen to it for obvious reasons…. But it is a good news for sure. We are the most active amateur photo walker’s group in Kolkata. Coming back to present, today our meeting was at Judge’s Ghat. Ghats are always the places where you will get some frames for sure. Only you have to wait. I remember Benaras, I clicked very few photos there. I waited the whole day. But I got some wonderful frames that I will remember through my whole life. This is probably because different people from outside or within the city comes to ghats of Ganges for different reasons. And lots of people means lots of activities. So the equation is simple. I was in pretty relaxed mood today and did not find much interest in clicking, rather chatting with everybody after so many days. Loved the weather today, it was dull but comfortable. Nowadays Kolkata’s weather is changing hugely. Comparatively todays weather was fine. But we really long for beautiful sky in Kolkata. Most of the time it is colourless cloudy…. I did not wait for anything today, saw a boatman sitting idle and tried some angles on him. Had an assignment for office pending. Needed a photograph of young people chatting casually. Got that one. Thanks my friend shutterbugs. They posed for me. I do not like posing at all, but this time I did not have any time to go for another shoot and get a candid. Came back home early, dad told me that he had told a person to get some export quality Hilsa fishes. I was eager to get a snap. My father and uncles are so mad about this fish, dad forgot his breakfast while waiting for the person to come. And he called me on my mobile as soon as those arrived. I told him to arrange for some banana leaves. I was thinking about a frame in mind. Afterwards it is not much. I clicked, I ate and uploaded the photograph online. People called me soon after and asked if I am free today and if they can come down to my place…
