Sir

First of all, thank you for this great website. I saw that you love to click more and write less. But then you talk so much through your photographs... no need to write in fact!

I have seen the film recently, after that I searched on internet for months to gather as much as I can about Dharavi. Though I am not from India, I tried to get facts from reliable sources. I am almost sure that people over there try to continue living in the same condition as they are not sure about any stable alternatives. They probably do not know how will it be if the government shifts them to another location. Most interesting fact is, most of the people reside there are working. They are not siting idle.

And about western people, let me tell you that people are very curious. They are curious to see and know about the matters they are not aware. So they are curious to know poverty (I am assuming when they are having excess money). They are curious to know about theft and murder if they live in safe haven. But believe me today there is no place on earth where you do not get poverty or you can not experience fightings. Do not think that western guys love to see poverty, they are just too curious to see. While in countries like India, one can not afford to be that curious because he has to do lots and lots of things everyday to sustain, survive. And of course, India is not sitting on a large pile of money. So simply it can not afford to be curious on a corner of the city which it is aware of since ages.

Let the critics shout, It is their profession!

You please continue to shoot and blog more for our benefit. It was a very good moment when I bookmarked your site.

Thanks

I think the group of people protesting against the "selling of poverty" in the movie are doing so because the movie has left out the glitz and glamour that are also part of todays India. If the movie had shown the main protaganist spending his winnings on fast cars and luxury apartments, the protests might not have taken place.
We youngstars ( yes me too) tend to take our squeaky clean offices and fast money for granted. The fact that there are people who earn the same amout of money in a year as we do in a month is oblivious to us.
Instead of protesting the movie, the energy should be spent constructively by creating awareness of the abysmal conditions of these slum areas.
